Ray McInnis, a friend and old Scot has an amazing project going on his website to trace the history of the Amateur Woodworking Project. Give it a look.
many thanks, paul, from "the old scot", for the promotion of my website, www.woodworkinghistory.com.
my passion, it takes a lot of work, but it is engaging.
unless i've missed something really important, the subject is virgin territory: there is no history of woodworking. (of course, histories of parts of the woodworking craft exist, but they seem to be few and far between.)
what helps? not many people out there who can boast of being an insider to woodworking and in command of the research skills requisite to uncovering the secrets of the craft's history
